September is Literacy Month and to celebrate, The Cliff Jordan Continuing Education Center, Cobb Collaborative and Ferst Readers will be hosting a community wide event at TILLMAN!
Children will be able to play games like Cat in the Hat Cornhole, Guessing Game Give-away, Go on a Story Walk and more. Each child will be given a free book once they visit each Passport Station. Refreshments will be provided.

NOTE: Food items should be current, not beyond expiration date. Donations can be left in the blue bins through the blue front door facing Concord Road. Office Hours are Mon-Thurs 9am – 1pm. Saturday drop offs can occur at the East entrance from 9am-12pm on Food Box Saturdays.
A new year of AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMMING will begin at Tillman House, in partnership with Smart Kids & Cliff Jordan Continuing Education. We are looking for qualified, volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with 1st through 3rd graders in reading and math curriculum. We also have a need for SPANISH SPEAKING volunteers (adult or teen) to work with students who speak little to no English. These three-day a week after school sessions will take place at the Tillman House Resource Center every Tuesday through Thursday from 2:30pm to 5:00pm beginning September 14th. 4:10-4:15pm: Stretching break “Go Noodle”
4:15-4:30pm: Read book and questions (setting, characters, problem/solution, fiction/non-fiction, relate to own life)

4:50-5:00pm: Student’s pick last game/Recreation Time

Donating Kroger gift cards in $10 and $25 increments is one way to make a big impact. When a Tillman client picks up a FOOD BOX we can also provide a gift card to help pay for milk, eggs or other perishable items.
Drop them off at the front office (through the blue front door) or ship directly to Tillman House.

Tillman is looking for a group of volunteers to serve dinner at the Elizabeth Inn on the 8th day of each month. It's really simple, fun and fulfilling! Join us for a Movie under the stars! We'll have food & fun. All you need to do is bring a blanket or chair. Join us on the back lawn at Tillman. Everyone is welcome! No rain date scheduled at this time. Praying for beautiful weather.
Volunteers are needed to provide dinner at the Trinity House once a month for the remainder of the year. You can order pre-made meals for 20 and drop it off or stick around and fellowship with the gentlemen of Trinity.
